What is auditing?
Auditing of financial statements is mandatory for every company incorporated in Hong Kong. An audit expresses an opinion on the financial statements prepared by the company — whether the information in the financial statements is free from material error. For this reason, the audit of financial statements has to be performed by an independent and competent person, known as an auditor or accountant, who issues an auditor’s report based on the results of the audit.
What you will have after auditing?
After the audit, an auditor’s report is issued to the company by the accountant. The auditor’s report is an essential tool when reporting financial information to users such as shareholders and bankers.
